I’m in school now (college, to be more precise) to get the second level of my apprenticeship training out of the way. That said, expect to see some doodles from class in the near future – a colossal screwup in my pharmaceutical coverage means I won’t have the necessary medication to control my ADD for at least a few weeks.

It’s not a total loss, uncontrolled ADD gives me the super ability called “Hyper Focus”, which means I’m pulling ridiculously far ahead of the class in reading and completing the modules, as I just refuse to stop until the end of the day arrives. It also means “No Homework For Binky”, which is a plus when figuring out how much more free time I have at the end of the day. What sucks, however, is that my lack of discipline means I can write off all that free time… 

But, I’m AWARE of it now, so I can fight the good fight.

I have an obsession with my mental health, or, more precisely, my mental unhealth. My struggle to gain a level of mental wellbeing has unfortunately robbed me of nearly half a year of my life most recently…

In my ongoing struggle – leading through depression and anxiety to the source of my problem (being a simple case of ADD), my focus has meandered completely away from my online presence.

It’s a bit like the Neverending Story – I’ve created a void that’s slowly eating up my world!

I’m hoping that my boundless energy will overcome my lack of discipline and organization (not entirely lacking in either, but enough to be a concern), especially since I’m aiming that energy at being more disciplined and organized.

… Now I just have to remember the princess’ name…

Starbow.com has most of the basic functionality I want it to have. It’s not complete by any stretch of the imagination, but there’s more than just my ramblings to look at for the first time in far too long.

I can’t say for sure if it’s a change in attitude or if it’s the Ritalin actually doing its job, but I’m making focused progress for the first time in …

… memory fails. I’ll have to accept that there’s a possibility that I was once this productive and just can’t recall it.

The funny(?) thing is though I don’t have anything recent on this site, I’ve a monster pile of completed artwork sitting on my computer. It’s almost exclusively in a folder labeled ‘Cool Herders’.

I’m ready to return to the drawing board now. Which is great, thought it’s buried under a pile of assorted crap – from art supplies to the spent husks of freezer pops.

In spite of losing a pile of images, I’ve managed to upload ONE HUNDRED of them to the site thus far!

That officially makes Sv19 the greatest Starbow EVER.

Yay!

There’s still a tonne of work to put into the site (as the lack of half the links above can testify), and I’m eager to put that work in.

As they say in Arrested Development: “I’ve made a huge mistake.”

The images in SketchWerks and ArtWerks are WAY too big to casually browse, and I’m going to take some of the NSFW stuff away from general view.

It seems I still have some work to do…

Also, in the “Less Than Good News” category, I’ve lost a good pile of artwork that I had backed up – corruption had its way with the files.

*Sigh*

That was a blow I wasn’t prepared for, as I rarely even turn my backup drive on. I guess I should have been forewarned, as a good sum of the sketches I was scanning in were water damaged. The stormcloud was on the horizon already.

I can’t complain too heartily, however. It just makes me that much more driven to create more artwork to replace the older stuff.

So a-tweaking I must go, a pile of other artwork needs to be added to the site, and then a whole new era of artwerking will begin!

In spite of the setback (if you’ve been keeping up), I just put 9 more sketches into the SketchWerks.

Not as impressive as I’d hoped, but a solid start. I’ll still need to re-scan the 15 I lost. Hopefully the PhotoShop memory leak problem’s been licked, but that’s a ‘wait and see’ scenario.

So, I think I’ll suck it up and start scanning.

Well, I’m not impressed.

It seems Photoshop CS2 has a memory leak. Which wouldn’t be a major issue if it hadn’t caused me to lose 15 images that I’d just scanned. I think that’s my cue to give up for the night… get a fresh start after work tomorrow.

So be prepared for another massive onslaught of images soon. Mostly sketches, of course, as I’m getting my sketchbooks out of the way first.

Part of my plan to get a good solid base of stuff on Starbow.com so I can then breathe easy and start making NEW stuff for the site!

That opens up two sections of the BinkWerks – ArtWerks and SketchWerks. There are far more entries in the SketchWerks section, as I’ve been scouring my sketchbooks for some of the more siteworthy contributions. There’s more to come, so balance will return to Starbow in due time…

I’m busily scanning in artwork and sorting things out so that there’ll be something other than my ramblings to browse through.

Still.

It’s no longer part of the work week for me now, so I have some residual energy to pull me through the weekend. That energy should be enough to get through this stage of the Starbow production.

The first facelift of Starbow is complete. Though Starbow version 13 is supposed to be here, there have been enough revisions to the structure that I’m up to version 19! That actually means 2 newer versions were made, and when I complete the Binkipedia portion of the site, you’ll see why.

But Binkipedia is a distant second to ‘get some darn artwork on the site’, and Tursi has made this possible, so I’d best leap to it!

And that said, it’s time to make some progess.

I suppose it’s one of those things you can analyze and ponder all you want, but you just don’t know what you’ll get until you actually get your hands on it…

The Binkipedia, powered by wiki software, has let me down something fierce. But I’ve learned a lot about PhP in the process, so I can’t call it a complete loss. The truly bad thing is Tursi ended up in a long, drawn-out battle with the server for nothing, essentially, as I’m not certain if I’ll be using PhP5 for anything else…

*sigh*

It’s a long weekend, and my mind’s somewhat active at the moment, so I’m working on a plan B.

God, I hate plan Bs. Why can’t plan A just work?
