Badhiba Jews

This one’s puzzled me for a while now. I haven’t managed to find any information on this (apparently) well-hidden sect of judaism, save for one pop-culture reference: In Love Machine by Wham! :

“I’m just a love machine
and I won’t work for no badhiba jew”

Apparently George Michael had issues he needed to work out in song.

Binky

Death

The funniest thing to happen to the universe since Life.

Depressive personalities have an advantage when it comes to death: There are so many people spending so much time and energy preparing for their demise, whether it be a religious compulsion or just being driven to accomplish as much as one can before time runs out. In contrast, if you’re blue enough, you’re ready! That baggage is packed. Unfortunately, you’d have to get out of the emotional rut to take advantage of all those freed up resources…

Egg Daiquiri

A statement I use quite frequently, as a replacement for “exactly!” I suppose it could be made into an actual drink… a rum-and-eggnog smoothie, perhaps.

If someone manages to make an egg daiquiri, I’d like to hear how you enjoyed it – I’m not crazy enough to try that one just yet.

Kiki

Kirsten “Kiki” Ross is Binky’s woman, and due to a tantrum and no shortage of malicious humor on Binky’s part, is frequently referred to as “the ex-fiancée” in spite of their continued relationship.

Med

Mederick “Med” Major (aka Jathfox) is responsible for the greater majority of the damage to my formative brain – but only the best kinds of damage. His brilliantly warped mind helped push my already twisted perceptions over sanity’s brim to settle on the coaster of madness…

…or something like that.

It’s because of Med that, left to my own devices, I’m immune to boredom. That kind of gift can only bring awe and respect, both of which I have by the bushel for him.

Racist

Someone who likes to drive really fast. For good examples of racist comments, just watch Nascar or Indy 500 broadcasts. Oh, and here’s a fun fact: drunk speeders are the creators of the racial slur.

Starbow Productions

Starbow Productions is not actually a producer of starbows (see below), as the name implies. However, the pretty colours that the title invokes really compelled claiming the name before someone else did.

Starbows

Starbows are the colourful anomalies surrounding a Tannhäuser Gate, which is used to accelerate spacecraft to near-light speeds in the Gainax animated series Gunbuster: Aim for the Top. For more information, watch the science lessons in the Gunbuster miniseries. Also, the Tannhäuser Gate is a tribute to Blade Runner, making Starbow Productions a Blade Runner tribute once removed.

Starbow Productions’ numbering was never entirely linear. Since I’ve got an unhealthy obsession with prime numbers, I actually stuck with prime numbers to label the versions of Starbow.com as they progressed.

I couldn’t stop at just that, as I like charging through the numbers. So, if there was a significant change made to the design (a new logo, for example), I added another prime to the pile. Thus I went from v7 to v19 in a few short years. I’m content with things as they are (for the most part), so this site shouldn’t have a new number assigned for a while.

Team Binkiki

When the powers of Brendan “Binky” Wiese and Kirsten “Kiki” Ross combine, Team Binkiki is formed. No news, however, as to whether the team is a force for good or evil.

Tursi

Mike “Tursi” Brent is a programmer extraordinnaire, and the heart and soul of HarmlessLion. Tursi and Binky have teamed together on many projects - most currently, Cool Herders has both of their mental resources rather tied up.
